The Mom Training Podcast with Diana Ballard
Diana: Hey, ladies. Welcome to The Mom Training Podcast. It is Wednesday evening. My podcast always posts Tuesday morning. And I just realized that the podcast that I had planned and all ready, had not been scheduled.
Now, the reason why I’m telling you this, the reason why I’m jumping on right now to talk to you, is because, I started listening to the podcast I was going to post and I realized I completely needed to make a shift.
I’d like to talk to the mom right now, who feels like she’s been ran through the ringer. Now, I don’t know about you, but 2020 and 2021, have been really challenging years. Not only were they challenging, for whatever was happening globally, but a lot of problems are still happening between relationships, and people’s jobs, moneywise. People not being able to get a home. It can really be frustrating.
So, I want to talk to the mom right now, who is feeling worn out. We just went through the holidays. We just pulled off a huge shebang for our family, and feel like we didn’t get very much from it.
Now, maybe you enjoyed the holidays. Maybe you had a great time. But maybe right now, you are feeling really worn down… And I want you to learn that you’re not alone in that.
As we step into 2022, I invite you to put yourself as a focus; your mental health, your emotional health, your physical health. Because momma, you can’t keep running ourselves to the ground. Sometimes, it seems that no matter how hard we try, no matter how much we prepare, we still find ourselves struggling.
Preparation, planning, doing things ahead of time can help. But what happens when there’s still things that cause us turmoil. Whether it be relationships, something not going right, someone having a bad mood on the special day…
What it really comes down to is loving ourselves. And having grace with ourselves, and having expectations that are realistic and flexible.
As we close out this year, I want you to know that you’re enough. I want you to know that you’re seen. And that you’re not alone if you feel worn out right now. If you’re dropping the ball on a million different things, don’t give up, don’t give up hope, 2022 is a new year, a fresh start, a clean slate.
How do you want it to play out this next year? Our self-care needs to be number one, so that we can hold up the things that are most important or be resilient when there’s struggles or storms or our life gets shaken a little bit.
Happy New Year. I hope you’d have a wonderful weekend with your family, celebrating the new year coming into town. And we’ll see you next Tuesday and next year, on The Mom Training Podcast.
